เพื่อน มันว่าผมบ้า UBUNTU

เคยทำ Linux Ubuntu , Linux mint , gOS และ Linux TLE 9 ใส่ใน USB flash drive แล้ว boot ได้ แต่ก็เหมือนกับใช้งานจากแผ่น live cd คือเป็นแบบ ทดลองใช้งาน แล้วก็พอ update หรือลงโปรแกรมไปแล้ว หรือ เปลี่ยนแปลง ปรับแต่ง desktop แล้ว restart ใหม่ มันก็กลับมาเหมือนเดิม คือต้องตั้งค่ากันใหม่หมด นอกเสียจากจะ ติดตั้งลง hard disk พอดีไปเจอแบบนี้ก็ชักได้ใจไปเลยครับจากเวบนี้

Live Ubuntu 8.10 USB Persistent installs (Windows)

Live Persistent Ubuntu 8.10 USB installation The following tutorial covers how to install, boot and run Ubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid Ibex) from a USB flash drive using a Windows computer to perform the install. Ubuntu 8.10 will be run natively from the portable device utilizing a persistent casper-rw loop file for saving and restoring changes. In addition, the user should be able to perform system updates, including kernel updates, which in previous Ubuntu releases was not possible.

Ubuntu 8.10 USB Flash Drive Essentials: (สิ่งที่ต้องเตรียม)

• Windows PC to perform conversion
• Ubuntu 8.10 ISO (the script can download it)
• 2GB or larger USB flash drive (ควรจะมากกว่านี้เผื่อลงโปรแกรมเพิ่ม)
• Ubuntu810p.exe (contains the files to do the conversion)
• HP USB format tool (to format and make the flash drive active)

Ubuntu 8.10 USB Flash Drive Installation tutorial:

1. Download the HP USB format tool and format your stick using a Fat32 file system ( ไม่ต้องก็ได้ คลิกขวา ฟอร์แมท เลือก fat 32 ก็ใช้ได้)
2. Download http://www.pendrivelinux.com/downloads/Ubuntu810P.exe and launch Ubuntu810P.exe, a Ubuntu810P folder is created ( จำเป็น )ดับเบิ้ลคลิก ไฟล์ Ubuntu810,exe แล้วจะได้โฟลเดอร์ Ubuntu810p
3. Download the Ubuntu 8.10 ISO (จำเป็น) and place it in the Ubuntu810P folder. This step is optional, the script will

attempt to download the ISO if it is not present

ดาวน์โหลด UBUNTU 8.10.ISO http://releases.ubuntu.com/releases/8.10/ubuntu-8.10-desktop-i386.iso

และ เอาไปใส่ใน โฟลเดอร์ UBUNTU810P ที่ได้มาจาก การดับเบิ้ลคลิก ไฟล์ Ubuntu810P.EXE

4. From the Ubuntu810P folder, click Ubuntu810.bat and follow the onscreen instructions

จาก โฟลเดอร์ Ubuntu810P คลิก ไฟล์ Ubuntu810P.bat แล้วเลือกไดร์ฟ USB FLASH DRIVE ที่จะติดตั้ง แล้วก็รอ จนกว่าจะแตกไฟล์เสร็จ แล้วจะให้กด คีย์ใดๆ อีก 2 ครั้ง

5. Once the script has finished, restart your PC and set your BIOS or Boot Menu to boot from the USB device, save your changes and reboot

รีสตาร์ท แล้วสั่งให้ บูต จาก usb hdd (เครื่องไหนไม่มีก็ทำใจไปก่อน)

If all goes well, you should now be booting from your own personal Live Ubuntu 8.10 USB that allows you to save your changes and perform system updates.ถ้าทำถูกต้อง จะboot ได้และสามารถ save สิ่งที่ปรับแต่งไว้ได้

สิ่งที่ได้มา โปรแกรมพื้นฐานของ UBUNTU GNOME, OpenOffice.Org, Firefox ,totem movie player , Game,Pidgin ,Gimp , Evolution Mail

ไม่ต้อง Login เข้า desktop ได้เลย แม้แต่ตอน ติดตั้งโปรแกรม อัฟเดต หรือจะ สร้าง user ใหม่เพื่อความปลอดภัยก็ได้

ใช้งาน Effect ได้บางส่วน (ไม่มี cube effect, fire, water, zoom ฯ)

ลองเปลี่ยน พื้นหลัง เพิ่มภาษา และ สถานะภาษา หรือทำงานเอกสาร

Download VLC โดยใช้คำสั่ง

 % sudo apt-get update

% sudo apt-get install vlc vlc-plugin-esd mozilla-plugin-vlc

เพิ่ม เพื่อดูหนังฟังเพลง ออนไลน์ มาติดตั้งใหม่ได้ เพราะโปรแกรมที่มีมา บางไฟล์ไม่ยอมเปิดแฮะ VLC เปิดได้ทุกไฟล์กว่า

Restart แล้วก็ยังอยู่

Update ได้

ติดตั้ง Skype ไม่ได้ บอกว่าไม่อนุญาต (เอ๋อเร๋อ) ค้นหาใน แพคเกต อัฟเดต ก็ไม่มี

พอเอาเมาส์ไปชี้ที่ไฟล์เพลง พวก mp3, wma จะได้ยินเสียงตัวอย่างมาเลย

มองเห็นไดร์ฟ Ntfs ของ windows xp เลยไม่ต้อง mount drive

ในส่วนของผมทำแค่นี้ไดร์ก็เกือบเต็มแล้วเพราะ มีแค่ 2 GB เองแหละตอนนี้เหลือแค่ 12.8 MB คงหาโปรแกรมมาเพิ่มไม่ได้แล้วแหละแต่ทำงานเอกสารเข้า ดูหนัง ฟังเพลง ทาง VLC ท่องเวบ ทาง Firefox 3 และคุย msn ได้ผ่านโปรแกรม pidgin ได้ก็คงพอแล้ว

ลองๆ แปลแบบ งู ๆ ปลา ๆของคนที่จบ ม.ศ. 3 ก็ได้แบบนี้แหละ

แต่มันก็ได้ผลด้วยไม่ต้องติดตั้งลง ฮาร์ดดิสค์ ทำไม Linux mint ไม่มีวิธีทำแบบนี้บางก็ไม่รู้แฮะ เพราะหาวิธีทำแบบง่ายๆและใช้แทนการติดตั้ง ลง ฮาร์ดดิส ไม่เจอซักที

เนื่องจากตอนนี้ชักจะหลงรักเจ้า Linux mint gnome ซ๊ะแล้ว

เพิ่มเติม

ตอนนี้ใช้ เอฟเฟค เดสท้อปได้ เต็มความสามารถแล้ว เข้าไปที่ add remove program แล้วค้นหา compiz เจอก็ กาถูกหมดแหละ แล้วเพิ่มด้วย screenlets เพื่อเพิ่ม พวก นาฬิกาที่หน้าจอและ อื่นๆตอนนี้ก็เหมือน ติดตั้งใน harddisk แล้ว
